Knitted fabric production
Petek Kumaşlar Knitted Fabric
Honeycomb knits form open cells on the surface through tuck stitches, needle-out arrangements or alternating cylinder and dial action, and they support air permeability and moisture transfer. Fine birdseye, medium honeycomb and open mesh all belong to this group. Polyester-based qualities serve sports and performance wear, cotton-based ones polos and daily wear. Cell size follows repeat width and the number of empty needles; larger cells breathe more but cover less.
Structure and production
We knit them on 30–34 inch single- or double-bed machines of 24–28 gauge, using 75–150 denier polyester filament or micro polyester for performance qualities and Ne 30/1 cotton or cotton/polyester for polos. Filament feed tension directly affects cell evenness, so the yarn path is checked on the light table. Weights run 170–300 g/m² and open width 160–190 cm; in polyester qualities heat-setting temperature decides dimensional stability, in cotton qualities compacting keeps the cells open after washing.
At Meyas Tekstil we settle cell size, cover and moisture-management targets first, fix repeat, needle-out arrangement and yarn tension on the sample, and share the heat-setting and finishing recipe with our finishing partner.
Sourcing and sampling

We knit the sample on our own machine park in Kahramanmaraş and report greige and finished weight with post-wash dimensions.

Machine, settings and yarn lot of the approved sample go into the recipe; bulk is planned on that recipe.
Production and dispatch
Light-table inspection at the knitting exit, weight and width measured per lot; approved quality ships with traceable lot data.

Our standard weight band is 170–300 g/m²; width: Açık en 160–190 cm. Values outside the band are developed on request; the target is confirmed on the sample with post-wash measurements before bulk is planned.
Which products is Petek Kumaşlar used for?
Typical end uses are spor giyim, polo, performans ürünleri. Composition options include pamuk, polyester, fonksiyonel karışımlar; we recommend the yarn and finish according to the product and washing expectations.
Do the cells close after washing?
In tuck-stitch structures the cell appearance can change during dyeing and drying. We confirm compacting and stenter settings with a wash test on the sample and keep the approved cell character in bulk with the same finishing recipe.
