Waffle Knitted Fabric
Waffle is a full-bodied knit in which tuck loops accumulate on the same needles over several courses, compressing the fabric lengthwise and pushing the surrounding stitches outwards into square or honeycomb cells. The air held in the cells gives warmth and absorbency, which makes waffle the characteristic fabric for thermal underwear, robes and loungewear. Single-bed waffle is lighter with one textured face; double-bed waffle is fuller and usable on both sides.
Structure and production
We knit waffle on 30–34 inch machines of 18–24 gauge, typically with Ne 20/1–30/1 cotton or cotton/polyester. Deep-textured thermal qualities run at 18–20 gauge with Ne 20/1, finer loungewear at 24 gauge with Ne 30/1. Weights run 180–320 g/m² and open width 160–190 cm. The dense tucking gives a strong lengthwise shrinkage tendency, so stenter and compacting settings are confirmed on post-wash sample measurements.
At Meyas Tekstil we set cell size and depth against the target weight, fix the tuck repeat and yarn tension on the sample, and approve the finished surface character after dyeing before bulk is planned.

We knit Waffle on our own circular knitting machines in Kahramanmaraş and follow it from sample to bulk with one team.
Sample
We knit the sample on our own machine park in Kahramanmaraş and report greige and finished weight with post-wash dimensions.
Approval and recipe
Machine, settings and yarn lot of the approved sample go into the recipe; bulk is planned on that recipe.
Production and dispatch
Light-table inspection at the knitting exit, weight and width measured per lot; approved quality ships with traceable lot data.

Questions about Waffle.
What weight and width is Waffle produced in?
Our standard weight band is 180–320 g/m²; width: Açık en 160–190 cm. Values outside the band are developed on request; the target is confirmed on the sample with post-wash measurements before bulk is planned.
Which products is Waffle used for?
Typical end uses are termal üst, sabahlık, ev giyimi. Composition options include pamuk, pamuk/polyester; we recommend the yarn and finish according to the product and washing expectations.
Do the cells close after washing?
In tuck-stitch structures the cell appearance can change during dyeing and drying. We confirm compacting and stenter settings with a wash test on the sample and keep the approved cell character in bulk with the same finishing recipe.
