Amerikan Pike Knitted Fabric
American piqué is a double-bed knit in which cylinder and dial needles work in alternating knit and tuck combinations, producing a robust, textured surface with a diagonal character. Unlike classic single-bed piqué it is knitted on two beds, so it is more stable, fuller and free from edge curling. It stands out for durability in sweatshirts and sports polos.
Structure and production
We knit it on 30–34 inch double-bed machines of 18–24 gauge, typically with Ne 20/1–30/1 combed cotton or cotton/polyester. Because tuck loops accumulate on both beds, balanced stitch length between cylinder and dial is essential for both faces to shrink evenly. Weights run 190–280 g/m² and open width 170–190 cm; shrinkage is lower than single jersey thanks to the double-bed construction.
At Meyas Tekstil we balance the two beds on the sample, check surface texture on the light table and record greige and finished weight with post-wash dimensions. Cam setting and needle arrangement are kept in the recipe so repeat orders run on the same machine.
Sourcing and sampling

We knit Amerikan Pike on our own circular knitting machines in Kahramanmaraş and follow it from sample to bulk with one team.

We knit the sample on our own machine park in Kahramanmaraş and report greige and finished weight with post-wash dimensions.
Approval and recipe
Machine, settings and yarn lot of the approved sample go into the recipe; bulk is planned on that recipe.
Production and dispatch
Light-table inspection at the knitting exit, weight and width measured per lot; approved quality ships with traceable lot data.

What weight and width is Amerikan Pike produced in?
Our standard weight band is 190–280 g/m²; width: Açık en 170–190 cm. Values outside the band are developed on request; the target is confirmed on the sample with post-wash measurements before bulk is planned.
Which products is Amerikan Pike used for?
Typical end uses are polo, sweatshirt, spor giyim. Composition options include pamuk, pamuk/polyester; we recommend the yarn and finish according to the product and washing expectations.
Do the cells close after washing?
In tuck-stitch structures the cell appearance can change during dyeing and drying. We confirm compacting and stenter settings with a wash test on the sample and keep the approved cell character in bulk with the same finishing recipe.
