Kaşkorse Knitted Fabric
Kaşkorse is a full 2x2 rib knitted on double-bed circular machines. Needles work in pairs with one needle left out after each pair, which creates the wide vertical channels. Compared with 1x1 rib it is fuller, its channels are wider and its drape more pronounced; it recovers strongly and does not curl at the edge. It is the classic fabric for vests and close-fitting tops, and is widely used in dresses and skirts.
Structure and production
We knit it on 30–36 inch double-bed machines of 14–20 gauge, using Ne 30/1 combed cotton at 18–20 gauge for fine qualities and Ne 20/1–24/1 at 14–16 gauge for fuller ones. Elastane of 40–70 denier is plated with the ground yarn. Weights run 180–300 g/m² and tubular width 90–150 cm; because rib relaxes, width is always stated as tubular or open and measured on rested fabric.
At Meyas Tekstil we set handle and drape through elastane content and stitch length, measure stretch, recovery and post-wash dimensions on the sample, and inspect channel evenness at the knitting exit.
Sourcing and sampling

We knit Kaşkorse on our own circular knitting machines in Kahramanmaraş and follow it from sample to bulk with one team.
Sample
We knit the sample on our own machine park in Kahramanmaraş and report greige and finished weight with post-wash dimensions.
Approval and recipe
Machine, settings and yarn lot of the approved sample go into the recipe; bulk is planned on that recipe.
Production and dispatch
Light-table inspection at the knitting exit, weight and width measured per lot; approved quality ships with traceable lot data.

What weight and width is Kaşkorse produced in?
Our standard weight band is 180–300 g/m²; width: Tüp veya açık en 90–150 cm. Values outside the band are developed on request; the target is confirmed on the sample with post-wash measurements before bulk is planned.
Which products is Kaşkorse used for?
Typical end uses are atlet, elbise, üst giyim. Composition options include pamuk/elastan, modal/elastan; we recommend the yarn and finish according to the product and washing expectations.
Why is width stated as tubular or open?
Rib structures relax and narrow across the width, so tensioned and rested widths differ noticeably. We therefore state whether the width is tubular or open and under which condition it was measured, always on rested fabric.
